Dinosaurs And The Bible

Dino What…?.

This is a question that I come across quite a lot when the Creation Vs Evolution debate arises. The first is the name Dinosaur and this opens up for a good witnessing tool.

dino-3

From the Image above you can see the name Tanniyn which literally means Dragon the word Dinosaur didn’t come around till 1841 and was coined by a Biologist by the name of Sir Richard Owen from the Greek “deinos” meaning fearfully great Awesome, and “sauros” meaning lizard.

Leviathan.

There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. Psalm 104 v 26

“Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook? Or press down his tongue with a cord?  job 41 v 4

Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. Psalm 74 v 14

In that day the LORD will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, With His fierce and great and mighty sword, Even Leviathan the twisted serpent; And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea. Isaiah 27 v 1

Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.(Leviathan) Job 3 v 8

Leviathan translates as a “Serpent” a sea monster or a dragon and  possibly could be the extinct dinosaur, the plesiosaurus. The plesiosaurus was a genus of large marine sauropterygian reptile. The name “plesiosaurus” means “almost lizard” so clearly it could have been what Job was writing about when the Great “I Am” is speaking to Job in Chapter 41 he says can you conquer Leviathan making a point that he’s not easily captured. The Leviathan must have been a pretty impressive creature and has become synonymous with any large sea monster or creature.

Behemoth.

Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.Job 40 v 15-24

Now in most bible’s in the foot notes they say Behemoth is an Elephant or Rhino have you seen a cedar tree ? and although the word Behemoth in Hebrew means Beast and isbehemoth-tail actually a plural like Elohim scholars agree that it is better translated along the lines of colossal beast a simple read of the text above clearly points to that of a large animal like no other in the Great “I Am’s” creation scholars place Job as the oldest book written in the old testament and some say it is pre-flood and the atmosphere was different accounting for large trees. Pre-flood or not there are some very tall trees and no beast of the field I know of can be likened to a beast that drinks up rivers. To this day you will still get Bible scholars in denial about Dinosaur’s and are blind to the description of this mighty animal.

Dragons and Flying Serpents.

In that day the LORD will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, With His fierce and great and mighty sword, Even Leviathan the twisted serpent; And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea. Isaiah 27 v 1

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; Awake as in the days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not You who cut Rahab in pieces, Who pierced the dragon? Isaiah 51 v 9

Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.Isaiah 14 v 29

The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.Isaiah 30 v 6

The word Tannin has confused many a scholar an translator and a range of definitions have been put forth sea-monster, sea-dragon, dragon, serpent, and even crocodile as possible definitions.and the word Tannin is very close to the word Tannim that is plural for jackal most scholars go with the principle of first mention meaning the first time it is mentioned sets a pattern for its use all through scripture this is problematic as the first mention of Tannin  is the plural of tanninim and means sea creature but when tannin is used later it refers to a land creature. So context is the key  talking of punishing Leviathon with fleeing serpents we have established Leviathon was big so it could not of been a jackal and jackals don’t fly or swim in the see Job 7 v 12 mentions tannin and that it needs a guard and in Isaiah its the Lord who has to slay the dragon/Tannin sea creature strongs 8577

Don’t Stop Growing. until they die

Reptiles grow until they die so a crocodile lives on average 50 years to a human 75 years so if pre-flood humans lived to 900 then a crocodile would be 600 that makes a very big croc.there are 700 names of Dinosaurs and 55 kinds the average size of a Dinosaur is 3′ – 5′ at death so only a hand full of the dinosaurs were big.Evolution tells you we are getting stronger bigger and better but the fossil records show they are not, you have cockroaches in the fossil record that are 18 inch compared to 1 inch in Britain and 2 1/2 inch in the U.S  you have dragon flys with 50 inch wingspans and today they have a 7/10 inch span samehammer-coal thing with Reptiles  a lot smaller today than in the fossil record so instead of getting stronger bigger better we see we are getting smaller weaker and dumber the Smithsonian museum have amberadmitted to getting rid of over 1000 skeletons of between 7′-12′ ft   before 1950 when Evolution was introduced into schools. Some Creationist propose there was a canopy of water before the flood that made conditions different for living and that it stopped dangerous rays from getting through to harm the inhabitants of the earth we find amber with trapped bubbles that measure between 28-35% oxygen and today we have 21% oxygen they have found a hammer in bedded in coal and the properties of iron are different to today, if the truth be told we are devolving through Entropy the 2nd law of thermal dynamics the “Law Of Decay”.

Do You Think They Saurus.

marco-ppolo

Marco Polo. 1254-1324 a.d

Marco  Polo was an explorer an adventurer and trader and is well known for his travels tomarco_polo china and the famous silk road in his annuls he records

“Leaving the city of Yachi, and traveling ten days in a westerly direction, you reach the province of Karazan, which is also the name of the chief city….Here are seen huge serpents, ten paces in length (about 30 feet), and ten spans (about 8 feet) girt of the body. At the fore part, near the head, they have two short legs, having three claws like those of a tiger, with eyes larger than a forepenny loaf (pane da quattro denari) and very glaring.”

The jaws are wide enough to swallow a man, the teeth are large and sharp, and their whole appearance is so formidable, that neither man, nor any kind of animal can approach them without terror. Others are met with of a smaller size, being eight, six, or 5 paces long; and the following method is used for taking them. In the day-time, by reason of great heat, they lurk in caverns, from whence, at night, they issue to seek their food, and whatever beast they meet with and can lay hold of, whether tiger, wolf, or any other, they devour;

“After which they drag themselves towards some lake, spring of water, or river, in order to drink. By their motion in this way along the shore, and their vast weight, they make a deep impression, as if a heavy beam had been drawn along the sands. Those whose employment is to hunt them observe the track by which they are most frequently accustomed to go, and fix into the ground several pieces of wood, armed with sharp iron spikes, which they cover with sand in such a manner as not to be perceptible.

When therefore the animals make their way towards the places they usually haunt, they are wounded by these instruments, and speedily killed. The crows, as soon as they perceive them to be dead, set up to scream; and this serves as a signal to the hunters, who advance the spot, and proceed to separate the skin from the flesh, taking care immediately to secure the gall, which is most highly esteemed in medicine.

In cases of the bite of a mad dog, a penny weight of it, dissolved in wine, is administered. It is also useful in accelerating parturition, when the labor pains of women have come on. A small quantity of it being applied to carbuncles, pustules, or other eruptions on the body, they are presently dispersed; and it is efficacious in many other complaints.

The flesh also of the animal is sold at a dear rate, being thought to have a higher flavor than other kinds of meat, and by all persons it is esteemed a delicacy.” The Travels of Marco Polo, © 1948,Book 2, Chapter XL, pg. 185-186

Pliny The Elder.23 – 79 a.d

Gaius Plinius Secundus Roman philosopher, author, naturalist, he spent his time studyingpliny-the-elder, writing or investigating nature and also was a navel and army commander.

Elephants breed in that part of Affricke which lyeth beyond the deserts….India bringeth fouth the biggest: as also the dragons  that are continually at variance with them, and evermore fighting, and those of such greatnesse, that they can easily claspe and wind round about the Elephants, and withall tye them fast with a knot. In this conflict they die, both the one and the other:”

“the Elephant hee falls downe dead as conquered, and with his heavie weight crusheth and squeaseth the dragon that his wound and wreathed about him.”

Chapter XII: “…the dragons ware hereof, entangle and snarle his feet and legges first with their taile: the Elephants on the other side, undoe those knots wiht their trunke as with a hand….the principall thing the dragons make at is the eye…Now these dragons are so big withall, that they be able to receive all the Elephants bloud. Thus they are sucked drie, untill they fall down dead…”

Chapter XIII: “In Ethyopia there be as great dragons bred, as in India, namely twentie cubits long.(approx. 30 feet).Book Eight: Chap. XI

Flavius Josephus.37 – 1oo a.d

Flavius was Jewish Historian and hagiographer one of the most well known and was a pen for the Romans his writings  have become a primary source of Judeo-Christian history.

‘For when the ground was difficult to be passed over, because of the multitude of serpents, (which itflavius-josephus produces in vast numbers, and, indeed, is singular in some of those productions, which other countries do not breed, and yet such as are worse than others in power and mischief, and an unusual fierceness of sight, some of which ascend out of the ground unseen, and also fly in the air, and so come upon men at unawares, and do them a mischief…’

‘…Moses invented a wonderful stratagem to preserve the army safe, and without hurt; for he made baskets, like unto arks, of sedge, and filled them with ibes, and carried them along with them; which animal is the greatest enemy to serpents imaginable, for they fly from them when they come near them; and as they fly they are caught and devoured by them, as if it were done by the harts; but the ibes are tame creatures, and only enemies to the serpentine kind: but about these ibes I say no more at present, since the Greeks themselves are not unacquainted with this sort of bird. As soon, therefore, as Moses was come to the land which was the breeder of these serpents, he let loose the ibes, and by their means repelled the serpentine kind, and used them for his assistants before the army came upon that ground.’

Pliny the Elder: who is my next witness adds support to the above accounts. He described a supposedly mythical creature as follows: “The jaculus darts from the branches of trees; and it is not only to our feet that the serpent is formidable, for these fly through the air even, just as though they were hurled from an engine.” In other words like a spear from a siege engine, the bolts of which are shown below.Antiquities 2 ch.10

Herodotus Halicarnassus.

Herodotus was a greek historian that lived in the 5th Century and was a contemporary of Socrates. And is  known as  “the Father of History” in Western culture.

“There is a region moreover in Arabia, situated nearly over against the city of Buto, to which placeheroditus I came to inquire about the winged serpent and when I came thither I saw bones of serpents and spines in quantity so great that it is impossible to make report of the number, and there were heaps of spines, some heaps large and others less large and others smaller still than these, and these heaps were many in number.”

“The region in which the spines are scattered upon the ground is of the nature of an entrance from a narrow mountain pass to a great plain, which plain adjoins the plain of Egypt;

“and the story goes that at the beginning of spring winged serpents  from Arabia fly towards Egypt, and the birds called ibises meet them at the entrance of this country and do not suffer the serpents to go by but kill them. On account of this deed it is (say the Arabians) that the ibis has come to be greatly honored by the Egyptians, and the Egyptians also agree that it is for this reason that they honor these birds.” The history of Herodotus volume 1 book 2 p.75

Flavius Philostratus.

Lucius Flavius Philostratus, also known as”the Athenian”, was a Greek sophist of the Roman imperial period.

Now as they descended the mountain, they say they came in for a dragon hunt, which I must needsphio describe. For it is utterly absurd for those who are amateurs of hare-hunting to spin yarns about the hare as to how it is caught or ought to be caught, and yet that we should omit to describe a chase as bold as it is wonderful, and in which the sage, of whom I have written this account, was careful to set on record:

The whole of India is girt with dragons of enormous size; for not only the marshes are full of them, but the mountains as well, and there is not a single ridge without one. Now the marsh kind are sluggish in their habits and are thirty cubits long, and they have no crest standing up on their heads, but in this respect resemble the she-dragons. Their backs however are very black, with fewer scales on them than the other kinds; and Homer has described them with deeper insight than have most poets, for he says that the dragon that lived hard by the spring in Aulis had a tawny back;note but other poets declare that the congener of this one in the grove of Nemea also had a crest, a feature which we could not verify in regard to the marsh dragons.Life of Apollonius 3.6-10

Ulysses Aldrovandus 1500’s,

Italian Scientist who witnessed a small creature on a country road in northern Italy and had the Dragon mounted and had it on display for some time.

The dragon was first seen on May 13, 1572, hissing like a snake. He had been hiding on the small estate of Master Petronius near Dosius in a place called Malonolta. At 5 PM, he was caught on a public highway by a herdsman named Baptista of Camaldulus, near the hedge of a private farm, a mile from the remote city outskirts of Bologna. Baptista was following his ox cart home when he noticed the oxen suddenly come to a stop. He kicked them and shouted at them, but they refused to move and went down on their knees rather than move forward. At this point, the herdsman noticed a hissing sound and was startled to see this strange little dragon ahead of him. Trembling he struck it on the head with his rod and killed it. Aldrovandus was surprised that the reptile did not run when he saw the man, but instead bravely raised its head and stood its ground. The Natural History of Serpents and Dragons.

Alexander The Great.

Famous conqueror Alexander in 330 B.C when he invaded India and claims to have seen a hissing dragon in a cave his lieutenants Onesicritus said that that the Indian king Abisarus kept serpents that were 120 and 210 feet long. Plutarch, Life of Alexander.

babylon

It’s not just Historians and explorers that have made a record of Dragons you have kings like Alexander the great above there is  Morvidus king of the Britons from 341 to 336 B.C. seen a dragon or monster appeared from the Irish Sea and began devouring the inhabitants of the western shores You have stories like Beowulf that mentions a few different monsters one is the bi-pedal Grendel Beowulf originated from a poem from 975 -1025 A.D but shows the knowledge of animals we would now call dinosaurs before the modern fossils and you have George and the Dragon a legend brought back from the 1011 century by crusaders in Babylon you have Dragons still on the wall from 2,600 years ago. The Ishtar Gate is covered in them, there is a wealth of references  to many to be named here..

Thousands Not Millions.

dinosaur-blood-t-rex-soft-tissue

Dinosaurs according to The experts died of in a massive extiction event 68 million years ago they come to this conclusion based on geologic time periods like Jurassic and Triassic  and the time period that they put the dinosaurs to is known as the K.T boundary the transition between the Cretaceous and Tertiary periods of geologic time characterized by a mass extinction of many forms of life including the dinosaurs; also :  a geologic stratum marking this boundary but the problem is that they have found fossils before and after or should I say below and above this K.T Boundary. Scientist Mary Schweitzer who lost her Job for speaking of her Discovery of finding Soft tissue from a T-rex so called reliable Radio Carbon Dated at 68 Million years. Since more have been Discovered with Blood cells and soft tissue Sergio Bertazzo was examining another fossil fragment, a piece of rib from some unidentified dinosaur he made thin slices and put them under a microscope. He found bands of fibres, after further tests they were found to contain amino acids that are known to make up collagen,  Dr Matthew Collins an expert in the study of ancient proteins backs the finds of the traces of soft tissue Dated 75 million years  the dating Methods used are fallible, to say the least Carbon 14 has a half life of 5730 years so if any fossil has carbon it points only to thousands, not millions If you have time have a look at this.

So I hope that this has given you the reader food for thought and please investigate because condemnation before investigation is the height of ignorance. look at the evidence with a fresh pair of eyes and try to put to bed your evolutionary mindset that you have been indoctrinated from the second you step into the education system. 1. If man once lived for hundreds of years because the atmosphere was different, then it wouldn’t be hard to emagine a reptile growing the size of a cow, coz reptiles grow until they die
